I am originally from Winston- Salem, North Carolina and I moved to the High Country several years ago. I graduated from Appalachian State University and loved Boone and the High Country so much I never left! I was raised in Nebraska, and moved to North Carolina in 2005 so that I could go to Carolina Panthers’ games and get residency for grad school. While I never did go to grad school, I did find my husband in the High Country and moved here to be close to his family.
I have always had a deep connection with animals, especially those considered “underdogs,” which led me to volunteering/fostering for a local rescue organization. Since Melissa is also a big supporter of rescue, our paths have crossed many times, and I have always admired and respected what she was able to do with/for dogs. I enrolled in Animal Behavior College’s Dog Training Program in 2015. When time for my mentorship/practicum came up, I was excited to find out Melissa was going to be my mentor-trainer. After completing the program, she was in need of an assistant, and I jumped at the chance to work for her, and am so thrilled to actually get paid to work with animals on a daily basis. I have already learned so much from being a Woof Pack Staff Member and excited to not only keep expanding my knowledge base, but also continue to make Woof Pack THE BEST Pet Care Business in the High Country. My current household consists of two dogs, six cats, and any number of auxiliary furkids (i.e. fosters).

My name is Alexandra (Alex for short) and I am originally from Louisville, Kentucky but moved to Boone to pursue college. I just recently graduated from Appalachian State University with a degree in Biology and a concentration in Ecology. My long standing appreciation and love for animals led me to pursue a career in animal care and thus I joined on with Woof Pack. I grew up spending every summer in Boone at my Grandmother’s farm helping care for the multitude of dogs, cats, and horses. Aside from working on the farm, I also have multiple years of experience working at kennels and veterinary clinics, and experience working with wildlife throughout my biology coursework at App State. I currently live with 2 dogs (3 year old German Shepherd and 9 month old ChiWeenie) and 6 horses.
I am excited to be working at Woof Pack and getting the chance to take care of lots of wonderful animals while also learning more to help make me a better animal care specialist. I believe that animals are an important part of our world and want to do my best to help make their lives more comfortable and raise awareness on the importance of properly caring for pets and the wildlife around us!

Hello! My name is Megan and I am currently starting my junior year at Appalachian State University and I am also in the Army National Guard. Before moving to North Carolina I lived in New Jersey for 22 years. While living in New Jersey I obtained my Associates degree in Liberal Arts while attending the Animal Behavior College online to become a Certified Veterinary Assistant. After moving to Raleigh I started working for a professional dog walking service called Southern Paws 'n' Pets as well as a Kennel Technician and Veterinary Assistant at the Mitchell Mill Animal Hospital in Raleigh. Now I am attending Appalachian State University as a Business major so I can hopefully start my own animal rescue in the future so I can continue helping animals. Animals have always been a huge part of my life and have been in my life constantly. I currently have a Labradoodle and cockatiel of my own right now, as well as a foster cat!
